Kabbadi, Kabbadi, Kabbadi . . .

The boys at the Divya Orphanage in Trichy, India have received new uniforms for playing Kabaddi!

When playing this popular local game, the players divide into two teams. Each team has seven players on it. The players use a field that is 13X10 meters wide with a line down the middle of the field to separate it in two halves (with one team on each side). These courts can be made of grass, clay, or any even surface where chalk can be used to mark boundaries.

The rules are simple: to win the game, you just need to get more points than the other team. To score points, you need to attack and defend. When you attack, you send a "raider" to the opposing side. The raider needs to touch at least one person on the opposing team for a point. When you defend, you try to capture the raider by not letting him go back to his side, or wrestling him.

The boys are very excited to receive these new uniforms. They can now feel more confident when they compete with other teams across Southern India. We are very thankful for all of the donations that made this possible.
